GT13E2 Blade — Spare Parts & Repair

GT13E2 blade spares: stage 1–3 turbine blades in superalloy with TBC coating. Precision-cast, balanced, NDT-inspected. Request a Quote from ZURN Power.

Overview:

The rotating blades of the GT13E2 turbine — three stages in the gas generator and power turbine — are the most thermally and mechanically loaded parts of the machine, and they are usually the component that decides whether an outage finishes on schedule. Stage 1 blades see the full turbine inlet temperature (about 1,100°C) plus the centrifugal load of 3,000 rpm, while stages 2 and 3 carry progressively cooler but still severe duty as the gas expands and accelerates. When a blade cracks at the leading edge, erodes from particulate, or loses its TBC to spallation, the entire hot-gas-path inspection (HGPI) or C-level overhaul is at risk of slipping its schedule and extending a costly outage. ZURN Power supplies new and reconditioned GT13E2 blades for all three stages, manufactured to OEM airfoil geometry with full material traceability, and we repair blades returned from the field in our own workshop. This page covers specifications, materials, supply scope, and how our blades fit your maintenance program — complementary to our GT13E2 vane, GT13E2 burner, GT13E2 rotor, and GT13E2 compressor parts. For asset managers the blade is also the longest-lead new item in the machine, so holding even a single spare stage changes the economics of a forced outage extension.

Specs & Materials:

GT13E2 stage 1 blades are typically directionally solidified (DS) or single-crystal (SX) nickel-based superalloys such as René 80 or CMSX-class alloys, chosen for creep and thermal-fatigue resistance; stages 2–3 may use equiaxed IN738LC or similar, balancing cost against the lower local temperature. Each blade carries internal cooling passages — convection plus impingement — feeding film-cooling holes along the leading and trailing edges and tip that we reproduce to original diameter, angle, and count. The gas-washed surface is coated with an MCrAlY bond coat and a YSZ thermal barrier coating (TBC) roughly 0.3–0.5 mm thick, with the TBC thickness mapped so the aerodynamic profile is preserved. We hold airfoil profiles, chord, and twist to OEM drawings, balance each blade to class, and issue EN 10204 3.1 material certificates with chemical analysis and grain-structure reporting for DS/SX parts. Root forms, shroud, and tip geometry are matched so the blade installs without platform grinding or field modification. We verify each blade on a coordinate-measuring machine against the nominal and limit drawings, and we record the as-measured twist and leading-edge thickness so a replacement matches the neighbor it sits beside in the rotor rather than merely fitting the drawing.

Supply / Service Scope:

We supply stage 1, 2, 3 GT13E2 turbine blades in both new-cast and reconditioned condition, with blade sets balanced as a complete rotor stage to minimize residual unbalance. Our services around blades include a TBC strip-and-recoat cycle for returned blades, braze and weld repair of cracks and tip restoration, cooling-hole cleaning and laser re-drilling, and reverse-engineered blades for obsolescent rows where no drawing survives. We also perform high-speed balancing of the assembled stage and dimensional verification against the rotor fit. Pair your blade order with GT13E2 nozzle guide vanes, SEV burners, and combustor liners from our other part pages, or send blades to our GT13E2 repair workshop for refurbishment between outages. Lifecycle management — we track fired hours per stage and advise on rotation and retirement so you replace on condition, not on guesswork, and so a planned HGPI is never surprised by an expired row.

Compatibility & Applications:

Our GT13E2 blades fit standard GT13E2, GT13E2-1, and MXL-upgraded units and are cross-referenced to GE heritage documentation, so a blade from any vintage resolves to a buildable item. They suit combined-cycle (KA13E2), simple-cycle peaking, and CHP duty across 50 Hz markets. Typical triggers for replacement are a scheduled HGPI or C-level overhaul, foreign-object damage (FOD) or rubbing from bearing wear, TBC spallation beyond acceptance limits, and creep-limited life expiry on the hottest rows. O&M teams, EPC contractors, and asset owners all source from our line, and the same blades back up GT13E2 data-center power programs where availability is contractual. In 50 Hz markets from the Gulf to North Asia the GT13E2 is common enough that a vane or blade from a sister unit can be cross-shipped at short notice, and our stock bridges that gap during a peak-demand window.

Why ZURN:

Our blades are made in-house through superalloy precision casting, HIP densification, 5-axis CNC, TBC coating, and NDT — no outsourced mystery stock with an unverifiable pedigree. That lets us guarantee chemistry, coating thickness, and balance class, and to reproduce a discontinued blade from a single sample when the OEM no longer offers it. With stocks via our Hong Kong hub serving the US, Europe, and Russia, we cut the lead time that usually forces a costly outage extension when a blade fails acceptance at the outage window. Because we also repair blades, a returned stage can be refurbished and recertified rather than scrapped, lowering lifecycle cost per fired hour. Because the same facility casts, coats, and balances, a new blade and a repaired neighbor leave the line to the same spec and the same balance class — no mixing of pedigrees within one rotor.

Request a Quote:

Send your blade drawing or part number and outage date to sales@zurnpower.com (China: hanson@zurnpower.com · Europe: alex@zurnpower.com). We quote with lead time and material certs, prioritize urgent HGPI windows, and can supply a single blade or a full balanced stage. Download full drawings and the GT13E2 parts catalog at /download. If you are mid-outage and a blade has just failed acceptance, call rather than email; we triage outage-critical requests the same day and can dispatch a balanced stage from stock where one is held.
